Ski Trab Duo Race Aero vs. Duo Sint Aero

I was wondering if anyone had used both of these skis? Obviously there is a 1/4 lb weight difference per ski and that can mean alot over a race ....... but does the Sint ski better because of width, etc?
It just seems to me that some of our COSMIC races end up being sweet powder fests, and a little more width could be an advantage on the downhill and breakable crust sections.
Yes, I know I could learn to ski better, but humor me with your opinions .............

Ski Trab Comp
I skied both these skis before settling on the Sint Aero. Both very light but the Sint was noticeably a better performer (at least for me). The reason I decided on the Sint was because I wanted a ski that would make me more competitive at races but also one that I could tackle technical descents with and use a little more in the backcountry. If I was just gonna use the ski for racing I would have went with the Duo Race for sure. I've only been in a half dozen races but the going up part always seems to be the deal breaker with how I do. If your looking for a ski just for racing, I would go with the Duo Race. I think the extra speed on the up due to the lesser weight is more of an advantage than the added performance of the Sint on the downs. Another factor for me was the fact that I'm 6'1", 180lbs and the Duo Race seemed really little! Either way you go, I don't think you're going to be disapointed. I love my Sint Aeros. I use them in all kinds of stuff (besides 40cm or fresh, that would be blasphamous!).
Biased rep opinion on Sint vs. Race
I own them both and have raced them both (I'm the rep for CO). I wouldn't say the Sint makes skiing appreciably easier than on the Duo Race (you can't beat a light ski on the up), but the Sint does tour a bit better with more width.
For a one-ski-race/tour in the West the Sint is probably your best bet. I raced a 164 Sint and liked it but once you race a Duo Race you'll want one... It depends on how serious you are on the race scene. I blew my commission on a 164 Duo Race and a 178 Sint, I really like them both.
My advice for racing is buy the Duo Race and ski it at a ski area as often as you can. Yes, the Sint will help you skiing some, but nothing makes up for days on the hill on a race set-up. For a ski with more "tourability" go with a longer Sint, but you're giving up a minute or so at a race. See you out there.
