Tiki Torch Dash

On December 5th, KHMR and the Golden Skimo Team are proud to host the first two races on the Canadian Calender. The night will consist of two separate races, a teams relay of about 500 ft vertical, where both members of the team will complete 2 laps(4 total per team). The second heat of the night will be a vertical race from the Gondola Plaza at the base to the top of the Pioneer lift (approx. 1500 ft). Complimentary dinner, awards and DJ will all be going on at 9:30 at Gondola base plaza and racers are encouraged to stay and enjoy the nightlife and celebrate the beginning of a new season.

Both races will be held after dark, so headlamps are mandatory equiptment to enter. Alpine tourers, telemarkers, splitboarders and snowshoers are all welcome but racers looking to attain ISMF points rankings will have to comply with a standardized gear list. There will be awards for best costumes as well as best times.

From the same folks who brought you the Dogtooth Dash Ski Touring Race comes the first annual Tiki Torch Dash. The Golden ski-mountaineering team and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort are excited to host this new night time ski-touring race on Saturday December 5th. The Tiki Torch Dash is a pre-season wind-up for an epic ski touring season this is just around the corner. Mountain climbing enthusiasts of all self propelled snow sliding disciplines are welcomed to compete in a uniquely formatted race concept that will challenge competitors' early season ski legs.
