Pre-registration is open for the 2010 Heathen Challenge. To register: print, sign and mail with payment the attached form.

Late registration is available at Summit Canyon Coffee House on Friday night from 5-7 pm. Very-late (morning-of registration) is discouraged but goes from 6:30 to 7:30 am in the lodge.

MANDATORY GEAR: RACE division - helmet, beacon, shovel, probe, ski pack (skis MUST be on pack during boot-pack section). RECREATION Division - helmet only required gear

The 2010 (REC) RECREATION course is unchanged from 2009. The REC course will descend Zephyr for a short first descent to Sun King, back to top then descend The Heathen to the finish.

THE 2010 RACE COURSE IS NEW FOR 2010 - EVERY DESCENT IS THE HEATHEN.

Lap one the descent: Heathen to base area

Lap two descnt: A RIGHT turn at the bottom of the Heathen, descend further to base of Lower Defiance

Lap three: Heathen to base area and finish

The race begins at the base lodge of Sunlight at climbs nearly 2000ft in less than 1.5 miles. The course includes the East Ridge and the brief 52 degree pitch on The Heathen. The race begins at 8AM on January 16th. The $60 entry fee for the race includes a full day lift ticket to Sunlight Mountain Resort, prizes for the top three and a raffle for the lucky. We’ll also hold registration at Summit Coffee house in Glenwood Springs on Friday January 15th from 5-7PM and Sunday at the Sunlight Mountain Resort lodge from 6:30-7:30AM.
